Martina Hingis

Martina Hingis is a retired Swiss tennis player. It's a shame we can not watch her game again. He has spent a total of 209 weeks as the World No. 1. She has won five Grand Slam singles titles. The only Grand Slam single title she didn’t won is the French Open. In February 2003, at the age of 22, Hingis announced her early retirement due to injuries but she return playing again in 2005. She won the mixed doubles title with Mahesh Bhupathi at 2006 Australian Open. On 1 November 2007, she announced her retirement again.

Maria Sharapova

Maria Sharapova

Maria Yuryevna Sharapova is a Russian professional tennis player. She is a former World No. 1. In her career she has won 3 Grand Slam singles titles: 2004 Wimbledon, 2006 US Open and 2008 Australian Open. Due to her shoulder injury in 2008, she has not performed very well in these two years. I think she is more a model than a tennis player. She has been featured in many advertisements and in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Sharapova is an aggressive baseliner with power, so she is better in hard and grass courts like in Wimbledon, US and Australian Open.

Anna Kournikova

Anna Kournikova

Anna Sergeyevna Kournikova is a former Russian tennis player. She is known around the world due to her celebrity status. At the peak of her fame, she became the most search strings in Google. Kournikova has a better achievement in doubles than singles. She only reached No. 8 in the world for singles in 2000. But it doubles she has been the world No 1. With Martina Hingis, she won Australia Open Grand Slam doubles titles in1999 and 2002. There are many rumors on her relationship with Enrique Iglesias. In an interview in 2010, Kournikova confirmed that she and Iglesias have been together but do not have plans to get married in the near future.

Caroline Wozniacki
Caroline Wozniacki

Caroline Wozniacki

Caroline Wozniacki is a Danish tennis player. On 11 October 2010 she first became the World No. 1. I think she is the best Danish tennis player in history although she does not get many titles. She never won a Grand Slam title before. Her best performance is runner up at 2009 US Open. Kim Clijsters beat her in that match. I’m pretty sure she will win her first Grand Slam this year, maybe in 2011 US Open? What do you think?

Maria Kirilenko

Maria Yuryevna Kirilenko is another Russian tennis player. She won her first WTA Tour title in 2005 China Open. Her best rank is 18 in July 2008. She and Maria Sharapova are good friend. In 2009, she appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition alongside Daniela Hantuchová and Tatiana Golovin.

Jelana Dokic

Jelana Dokic is now an Australian tennis player. At her first career she played for Serbia and Montenegro and reached her top ranking as the World No. 4 on 19 August 2002. Due to family problems especially with her dad, she slowly lost her ranking. Her best performance was reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon and the Sydney Olympics in. She made a big news when defeated Martina Hingis in the first round of Wimbledon in 1999. It’s too bad she couldn’t play at her best due to injury and family issues.

Daniela Hantuchová
Daniela Hantuchová

Daniela Hantuchová

Daniela Hantuchová is a Slovak tennis player. Her best year was 2002 when she won her first Tier I tournament. She ended the year in the top ten. Her best rank is 5 in January 2003.

She is more successful in modeling than tennis. Her best performance in Grand Slam was Australian Open in 2008 where she reached Semifinal. She appeared in the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition alongside Maria Kirilenko and Tatiana Golovin. You can see her strengths in her game, but she lack mental strength. In 2008 Australian Open semifinal, Hantuchová won the first set 0–6, but Ivanovic won the next two sets 6–3, 6–4.

Ana Ivanovic

Ana Ivanovic

Ana Ivanovic is a Serbian tennis player. She won the 2008 French Open after defeating Dinara Safina. Her best court is clay, where her height is an advantage but she plays well to in hard and grass courts. She likes watching movies (especially thrillers), reading and listening to music. Her favorite food is sushi. She described her self as strong-willed, sensitive, determined and extremely competitive.

Serena Williams
Serena Williams

Serena Williams

Serena Jameka Williams is an American tennis player, a former World No. She became the World No. 1 for the first time on July 8, 2002. She is considered as one of the best female players in history. Williams won 27 Grand Slam titles, 13 in singles, 12 in women's doubles, and 2 in mixed doubles. She has won all four Grand Slam singles titles and is the fifth woman in history to do so. Don’t forget she also won two Olympic gold medals in women's doubles. 2004 to 2006 is her worst period due to injuries and inconsistent results. Imagine what she might achieve with her fitness.

Gabriela Sabatini

Gabriela Beatriz Sabatini is a former Argentine tennis player. She was one of the leading female players in the late-1980s and early-1990s. She won singles title at US Open in 1990.
